Sap on Tap – Maple Water – New Jersey

By Shannon, Posted in Food Review

Have you ever had maple water? If not, I highly suggest you give it a shot. I recently came across Sap on Tap at my local Whole Foods and I knew I had to try it. Living in the Northeast of the US, I know how abundant Maple Trees are in my area. Soo nice and local, right?!

Maple water is 100% pure and natural. As sap travels up from the roots, it gets filtered along the way, infusing itself with about 2x the amount of manganese as a cup of kale! With only 36 calories in a bottle, these are the calories I will enjoy drinking. Not only will maple water hydrate you and provide you with a vast amount of manganese, the carbon footprint on a local product is much less.

Let’s think about it – many people drink coconut water in the Northeast. Coconut’s do not grow here therefore they are shipped from as far as Hawaii and the Caribbean. Why not try something that is more local to your area, so you are not damaging the planet anymore that we’ve already done? I love to support local companies and this is a company I plan on purchasing from again and again.

Maple Water Taste Test

Matt and I thought it would be fun to do a little taste test of the maple water as this was the first time we were trying it. We look some tasting notes and would love to share them with you!

Matt: creamy, refreshing, sweet with hints of cocoa and birch

Shannon: very light and refreshing, not overly sweet and a slight maple flavor.

Organic Maple Water - Sap on Tap - Maple Water Tasting

Sap on Tap is ORGANIC, dairy free, gluten free and vegan – so everyone can enjoy it!

After tasting this new tasty beverage, it got Matt and I thinking, why can’t we tap some sugar maple trees? Not only could be make homemade maple water but we could also make maple syrup. The wheels are turning and we can’t wait to research the art of tapping trees.

We hope you enjoy this little review of a new product we tasted. We are not in any way affiliated with Sap on Tap – these are our true opinions and thoughts. And with that being said,  I wish they were in glass bottles instead of plastic but choosing local is always a top priority for us!
